Sync and manage your Xero Chart of Accounts and Tax Codes

Cledara automatically syncs your Chart of Accounts and Tax Codes directly from Xero into your Accounting Records tab. This keeps the data in Cledara exactly the same as the data in Xero without any manual work.

With this feature, you can control what your team sees when they request software or log expenses. You can hide or show specific account codes, so your team only selects the correct options. This helps prevent coding errors before the data goes into Xero.

To manage this, go to your Accounting records tab. Use the toggles to turn visibility on or off. Once the entry is turned off, your team will not be able to see or select it in the dropdown for coding.

If you want to change many accounts at the same time, select the checkboxes next to them and click the Define visibility button at the bottom to edit them in bulk.

FAQs

How often does the data sync?

Whenever you visit a page that needs your accounting details, Cledara checks when it last updated. If it has been more than 24 hours since the last sync, Cledara will automatically pull your newest data right away. You can also click the Reload button to update it manually at any time.

Can I create new record entries directly in Cledara?

Always create new entries directly in Xero.

If you create a record entry directly inside Cledara's Accounting Records, it will not sync back to Xero, and it will not show up in your team's dropdown menus.

Always add them to Xero first, then click Reload in Cledara to pull the new entries over.
